Ben Shick, Civil Engineer. Born in Jackson Hole, WY and now resides with his wife Lorian and 2 children near Sebastopol, CA., right in the middle of some of the best Pinot vineyards in CA.
Jon Shick, previous owner of High Mountain Heli-Skiing in Jackson Hole, WY is now retired and enjoys his time making wine, riding his bike, and spending time with his grandchildren.
We shared a passion for Pinot Noir and talked about making our own wine for years. Finally, in 2010, I told Ben, “damnit Ben, we’re just going to do it”. We sourced out just one ton of Pinot and we began the adventure. Our goal has always been to produce the highest quality, low production wine we could possibly make and spare no expense to achieve that goal.
We use 100% French Oak barrels, 50% new oak, aged 16 to 20 months in the barrel and another year in the bottle.
